Community Groups and Clubs

During the past two years, The Pumpkin Patch has worked with a number of community groups and clubs in the Carmarthenshire area. This summer we have provided children’s cookery workshops at the West Wales Food Festival at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Taste of Towy Food Festival, Llandeilo, Cardigan Food and River Festival as well as a number of community events across the county. We have worked closely with Communities First and the Carmarthenshire Youth and Children’s Association (CYCA) to provide cookery activities and advice on healthy eating. Our fruit stations were a big hit at a number of community events during the summer holidays.
Parties

The Pumpkin Patch Parties offer ‘something different’! Children leave with bags full of home made cakes and snacks, totally exited and exhausted! We begin by making the birthday cake and cup cakes to decorate later, we make home made pizza dough or pasta or set about making themed goodies for the party (picnic sandwiches, bonfire food, fairy or scary food!) and whilst it all cooks, the children set about creating their own special party atmosphere … the party table or fire or … whatever they dream of!
What’s guaranteed is a fun time with plenty to do and a party that’s different to all their friends parties … unless of course they had a Pumpkin Patch Party too!!
The price includes invites, all ingredients, use of aprons and hats, and a party bag full of food to take home.
Schools

During the past few years we worked with a number of schools within Carmarthenshire and beyond. We provided cookery classes for whole classes and smaller groups.
St Catherine’s Walk, the new shopping center in Carmarthen, provided an opportunity for local school children to participate in their ’Gardening Week’.
The Pumpkin Patch was commissioned to co-ordinate the activities ans assisted local schools with their Bee-keeper’s, Wildlife, and Kitchen Gardens. These not only enthralled the public throughout the summer months, but also won St Catherine’s Walk 1st Prize in the Pride of Place competition in Carmarthen in Bloom 2010. We are currently working with local schools to provide boxes of winter colour throughout the Christmas season.
